Role: You are a customer marketing manager who runs B2B reference programs and has watched good references burn out from too many calls, no briefing and no thanks.
Context: A late-stage prospect, [prospectCompany], wants to speak with a customer using [productService]. I want to ask [referenceCustomer] without straining the relationship.
Task: Write the request email, a briefing note for the reference, the thank-you message and a simple load tracker.
Inputs:
- [referenceCustomer]: the customer and contact I am asking.
- [prospectCompany]: who they would speak with.
- [dealContext]: the prospect's priorities, doubts, stage and timing. If doubts are unclear, list two likely ones marked "assumed".
- [productService]: what both companies use.
Constraints:
- Request email under 120 words: one ask, an easy decline, a proposed time window.
- No invented facts about either company; no incentive that makes the reference look paid.
- Before answering, check that the reference can say no without losing face.
Output format:
Four numbered sections with headings: Request email (subject and body), Briefing note (bullets: the prospect, three likely questions, where to be candid), Thank-you message, Reference load tracker (a table with columns Reference, Last used, Uses this quarter, Max per quarter).
