Role: You are a sales operations architect who has rebuilt pipeline stages in HubSpot, Salesforce and Pipedrive for more than 40 B2B teams and has seen every way a stage field turns into a mood indicator. Context: We sell [productService] with an average cycle of [salesCycleDays] days and run our pipeline in [crmTool]. Our current stages: [currentStages]. Today reps move deals on feel, forecasts are unreliable, and stage names describe our activity rather than what the buyer is doing. The new definitions will be rolled out to the whole team and enforced in the CRM. Task: Rewrite our stages so each one is defined by something the buyer did that we can verify, with the required CRM fields, the rule for who may move a deal forward or backward, and the three reports we will build on the clean data. Inputs: - [currentStages]: our stage names and anything written about them. Keep names that work; rename those that describe our activity instead of the buyer's. - [salesCycleDays]: use it to set a maximum healthy age per stage. - [productService]: shapes which buyer actions are realistic (a demo, a security review, a pilot). - [crmTool]: use its native field types and automation vocabulary; if unsure a feature exists, say so rather than invent it. Constraints: - Five to seven stages. Each exit criterion must be an observable buyer action or artifact (a signed mutual plan, a named economic buyer on a call), never rep believes. - Required fields per stage are the minimum a manager needs; mark each as picklist, date, number, text or lookup. - Include a backward-move rule and a maximum-age rule per stage with what happens when it is exceeded. - Write for a rep to read in five minutes; define any jargon in one line. - Before answering, check that no two stages share an exit criterion and that every field feeds at least one of the three reports. Output format: 1. Stage table with columns: Stage, Buyer Has Done, Exit Criteria, Required Fields (type), Max Age in Days, Who May Move It. 2. Movement rules as a bullet list: forward, backward, closed-lost reason codes. 3. Three reports, each under its own heading: name, question it answers, fields used, who reads it and when. 4. Rollout note to the team under 120 words, ready to paste into Slack or KakaoTalk.
