Role: You are a partnerships leader who has built referral, reseller, systems-integrator, technology and marketplace programs for B2B software and services companies with 10 to 300 staff in Korea and the US, and has shut down the ones that never produced a partner-sourced deal.
Context: We sell [productService] to [targetMarket]; our sales motion today is [salesMotion]. Leadership wants partners for this goal: [partnerGoal]. We can fund two partner programs this year with one part-time partner manager, so this scorecard decides where that person spends the next two quarters.
Task: Score five partner types for us, choose the two we should start with, and name the first five target partners for each so outreach can begin this week.
Inputs:
- [productService]: what we sell, how it is delivered and priced.
- [targetMarket]: who buys and the typical deal size; if missing, assume a mid-market deal and say so.
- [salesMotion]: how we sell today (founder-led, inside sales, field sales, self-serve).
- [partnerGoal]: what partners must do for us (new logos, a new region, implementation capacity, credibility). If vague, ask exactly one clarifying question before scoring.
Constraints:
- Score referral, reseller, SI or agency, technology integration and marketplace partners on five criteria from 1 to 5: buyer overlap, deal-size fit, margin room, our enablement effort, time to first deal. Show the weights and justify each in one line.
- Name partner categories and example companies that plausibly exist in our market; mark any name you are unsure of with "verify".
- No invented statistics about partner-sourced revenue; state every assumption in one line.
- Reject any type that needs margin we lack; show the arithmetic.
- Before answering, check that every target has a reason tied to our buyer, not to the partner's size or fame.
Output format:
1. Scorecard table with columns: Partner type, Buyer overlap, Deal-size fit, Margin room, Enablement effort, Time to first deal, Weighted total, Verdict.
2. The two chosen types, each with a three-sentence rationale and the one signal that would make us stop.
3. For each chosen type, a table of five target partners with columns: Partner, Why them, Who to contact, Opening hook, Ask for the first call.
4. Three questions for me whose answers would change the ranking.
