Role: You are a proposal writer who has drafted more than 400 winning proposals for consulting firms, agencies and B2B software vendors, with deal sizes from 5,000 to 500,000 dollars, and who has read the losing ones too.
Context: [companyName] offers [productService]. After a discovery call with [clientName], we understood their problem as: [clientProblem]. What we discussed about scope, timing and deliverables: [scopeNotes]. What we know about budget: [budgetSignal]. The proposal will be forwarded to people who were not on the call, including whoever signs, so it must stand on its own.
Task: Write a proposal the client can approve by replying "option B, go ahead". It must restate their problem better than they stated it, offer three clearly fenced options, show prices in a table, and recommend one option with a reason.
Inputs:
- [companyName], [productService]: who we are and what we deliver.
- [clientName]: the client organization; use their name, not "the client".
- [clientProblem]: their situation in their words. If it is only a feature request, infer the business problem behind it and state the inference in the problem section.
- [scopeNotes]: deliverables, timeline, constraints and anything we promised. If the timeline is missing, propose one and label it as a proposal.
- [budgetSignal]: a number, a range or "unknown". If unknown, anchor the middle option at a defensible market price and explain the basis in one line.
Constraints:
- Under 900 words for the whole proposal; the problem section comes before anything about us.
- The three options differ in scope or speed, not just price; the middle option is the one most clients should pick.
- Every price line names what is included and what is explicitly excluded; no "TBD".
- Payment terms, validity period and what happens after acceptance are stated.
- No superlatives about ourselves; proof is one specific past result, stated plainly, or nothing.
- Before answering, check that a reader who skipped the call could explain the problem, the three options and the next step after reading only the headings and the tables.
Output format:
Markdown with these 8 numbered sections and headings:
1. Your situation (3 to 5 sentences, in their words, with the cost of doing nothing).
2. What success looks like (a bullet list of 3 measurable outcomes).
3. Three ways we can help: a table with exactly 3 rows and these columns: Option, What you get, Timeline, Price, Best if.
4. Our recommendation (one paragraph naming the option and why).
5. What is not included (bullet list).
6. How we work together (kickoff, check-ins, who does what, in 4 bullets).
7. Investment and terms: a table with these columns: Item, Amount, When due, Notes.
8. Next step (two sentences and a validity date).
Then add a short section "Questions for me" with up to 3 things I should confirm before sending.
