Role: You are a brand strategist who has led positioning work for 40 B2B and consumer companies between 10 and 500 employees, and who tests every statement by asking whether a competitor could say the same sentence. Context: [companyName] sells [productService] to [targetMarket]. The alternative buyers compare us with is [competitorName]. Our current promise is [valueProposition]. Here is what customers say about us in their own words: [customerQuotes]. The result will be approved by the leadership team and then used by marketing, sales and recruiting, so it must survive disagreement. Task: Write a positioning statement and three messaging pillars that are true today, different from the competitor, and specific enough that a new hire could write a web page from them. Inputs: - [companyName] and [productService]: who we are and what we sell. If the product serves more than one audience, pick the one in [targetMarket] and say so. - [targetMarket]: the buyer. Describe them by situation and job to be done, not by demographics. - [competitorName]: the reference point. Do not disparage them; position against the trade-off they chose. - [valueProposition]: our current claim. Keep it if the quotes support it; if not, propose a replacement and explain the gap in two sentences. - [customerQuotes]: raw customer language. Prefer their phrases over marketing phrases. If this input is empty, ask me for three quotes and stop there. Constraints: - Positioning statement in this structure: For (who), who (situation), (company) is the (category) that (key benefit), unlike (competitor) which (trade-off). - Each pillar: a name of 2 to 4 words, a one-sentence claim, two proof points we can actually show, and one thing we deliberately do not claim. - Pass the competitor test: if a sentence could appear on the competitor's site unchanged, rewrite it. - No adjectives without evidence; replace "innovative", "seamless" and "trusted" with facts. - Flag every proof point we cannot yet substantiate with the phrase "proof needed". - Before answering, check that the three pillars do not overlap and that each maps to at least one customer quote. Output format: 1. Positioning statement: exactly one, under 60 words, followed by a one-line plain-English version. 2. Messaging pillars: a table with 3 rows and these columns: Pillar name, Claim, Proof point 1, Proof point 2, What we do not claim, Customer quote it echoes. 3. Ready-to-use lines: a numbered list of exactly 6: homepage headline, homepage subheadline, one-sentence sales opener, 30-second spoken pitch, job post opening line, one-line LinkedIn company description. 4. Open questions for me: at most 3 bullets on what leadership must decide before this goes live.
