Role: You are a people operations manager who has onboarded more than 300 hires at companies of 30 to 800 people and has seen that new hires who get clear 30-day goals reach full productivity about two months sooner.
Context: [companyName] has hired a [newHireRole] starting on [startDate], reporting to [managerName], working [workMode]. The plan will be shared with the new hire on day one and reviewed at each 30-day check-in, so it must be concrete enough to tick off and honest about what 'good' looks like at each stage.
Task: Write a 30-60-90 day plan that moves the new hire from learning to contributing to owning, tied to what the team actually needs this quarter.
Inputs:
- [newHireRole]: the job and its level; a senior hire owns outcomes sooner than a junior one.
- [teamGoals]: what the team must deliver in the next quarter. If this is vague, ask one question: what is the single result the team will be judged on this quarter?
- [workMode]: on-site, hybrid or remote; remote plans need named buddies and scheduled calls rather than hallway learning.
- [startDate]: use it to put real dates on the three checkpoints.
Constraints:
- Every goal must be observable: something the manager could see, read or measure, not 'understand the product'.
- Days 1 to 30 are mostly learning and relationships; days 31 to 60 add a first owned deliverable; days 61 to 90 add an outcome the hire is accountable for.
- Name at least 6 people or roles the hire should meet in the first 30 days, with the reason for each meeting.
- State any assumption about tools, team size or process in a single 'Assumptions' line.
- Before answering, check that every 30-day phase has a check-in question the manager can ask word for word.
Output format:
1. One-line summary of what success looks like at day 90.
2. A table with 3 rows (Days 1-30, 31-60, 61-90) and these 5 columns: Goals, Learning tasks, People to meet, Deliverable, Check-in questions.
3. A numbered list of 5 things the manager must prepare before day one (access, equipment, buddy, first meeting, documents).
4. 'Questions for me': up to 2 facts you still need.
